verrucous carcinoma
Histologic Features
- A large sessile lesion
- A hyperkeratotic horn with parakeratosis
- Bulbous eosinophilic epithelium with little atypia, but contains many scattered dyskeratotic cells
- Proliferation of bulbous lobules into the dermis
- Absence of horn pearls or mitotic figures
- Dense lichenoid infiltrate of lymphocytes, neutrophils and plasma cells at the base
