Histologic Features
- Widened septae with fibrosis and infiltration by neutrophils, lymphocytes, and histiocytes
- Extensive extravasation of red blood cells
- Large veins showing necrotic vessel walls with inflammatory cells and lumina distended by a thrombus
- Perivascular degeneration and suppuration of the stroma
