Histologic Features
- A somewhat symmetric and well-circumscribed lesion in the upper dermis characterized by
- Smooth lobules consisting of monomorphous but undifferentiated basaloid cells which are arranged in cords or strands with eosinophilic homogenous material separating them
- Little tendency for the cells at the periphery to be arranged in a palisade
- Scattered sebocytes as solitary units or groups within the basaloid lobules
- Little necrosis or mitoses
- Numerous sebaceous ducts of varying sizes
- Cyst-like spaces filled with holocrine debris
