Histologic Features
- Compact orthokeratosis
- A thin epidermis with effacement of the rete ridges
- Scattered atypical lymphoid cells, as single units and nests within the epidermis
- A patchy lichenoid infiltrate consisting of convoluted mononuclear cells adjacent to the epidermis in association with vacuolar denegeration
- A thickened papillary dermis with coarse, squiggly collagen bundles
- Melanophages in large numbers and telangiectasia of the dermis
