Histologic Features
- Slight parakeratosis
- Irregular epidermal hyperplasia
- Many convoluted lymphoid cells seen as solitary units and nests within the epidermis in association with minimal or no spongiosis (Pautrier's)
- Lymphoid cells lining up at the basal layer producing some vacuolar alteration
- Thickened papillary dermis, containing a lichenoid infiltrate of atypical lymphoic cells, histiocytes, and a few eosinophils
- Coarse collagen bundles in haphazard arrangement in the papillary dermis
- A superficial and deep perivascular and peri-adnexal infiltrate containing histiocytes, lymphoid cells and plasma cells
