Histologic Features
- A well circumscribed vertically oriented neoplasm with
- Slender interconnecting lobules of basaloid cells that show uniform oval nuclei and prominent intercellular bridges
- Elongated tubular lumina of varying sizes, lined by two rows of epithelial cells
- Small ductal structures showing decapitation secretions of the lining epithelium
- Abundant mucinous stroma and fibrosis surrounding the lobules
- Foci of mucinous degeneration containing necrotic neoplastic cells surrounded by vacuoles, giving the appearance of cartilage
