halo nevus (Sutton's nevus)
Histologic Features
- A small (less than 6 mm.) well-circumscribed symmetrical lesion with
- A proliferation of melanocytes as nest and solitary units at the dermo-epidermal junction and in the dermis towards thecenter of the lesion
- A dense lymphocytic infiltrate-extending from the dermo-epidermal junction to the base of the lesion
- A decrease to absence in the number of melanocytes and pigmentation at the periphery of the lesion
- Early fibrosis in the dermis
