Histologic Features
- A dense and patchy infiltrate of mononuclear cells throughout the dermis composed of atypical cells with hyperchomatic vesicular nuclei, a high nucleus-to-cytoplasm ratio as well as prominent variations in sizes and shapes
- The presence of indentation and segmentation of the nuclei
- Penetration of the collagen bundles, destruction of the adnexae and extension of the infiltrate into the panniculus
- Absence of vasulitis or infiltration into blood vessels
