foreign body panniculitis
Histologic Features
- A patchy infiltrate of lymphocytes and histiocytes in the dermis in association with fibrosis
- A septal and lobular panniculitis containing a dense infiltrate of histiocytes, neutrophils, and many foreign body giant cells
- Scattered eosinophils and neutrophils in varying numbers
- Attempts to form fibrous pseudocapsules around foci of foreign body
