Histologic Features
- Edema of the dermis
- Telangiectatic dermal vessels
- A mixed-cell perivascular infiltrate consisting primarily of lymphocytes, histiocytes, and neutrophils
- A lobular panniculitis with focal fat necrosis and infiltrations by numerous neutrophils, nuclear dust, and foamy histiocytes
- Small vessel vasculitis with thickened vessel walls, thrombi within the lumina and fibrin deposition around the vessel walls
