Histologic Features
- A focal intraepidermal vesicle containing many acantholytic cells, necrotic epidermal cells and multinucleated epithelial cells
- Many neutrophils in the vesicular content
- Many keratinocytes showing blue-grey nuclei and thickened nucleoplasm
- A moderately dense inflammatory infiltrate in the dermis containing lymphocytes, neutrophils, nuclear dust and a few eosinophils.
- Edema of the papillary dermis
