Histologic Features
- A slightly dome-shaped lesion which is small, symmetrical, with no epidermal involvement
- Many epithelioid and spindle large nevus cells between collagen bundles as solitary units or small nests within the dermis
- Nevus cells characterized by oval, vesiculated nuclei with prominent nucleoli
- Scattered multinucleated nevus cells
- Fibroplasia of the dermis
- Dilated vessels in the dermis with a perivascular lymphocytic infiltrate
