Histologic Features
- A broad but symmetrical lesion with
- A band-like arrangement of nevus cells in the dermis
- Abundant melanin, especially in the upper part of the lesion
- A flat base
- A tendency for single rows of nevus cells between collagen bundles (Indian filing)
- Extension of melanocytes down the adnexal structures
- Tendency for the nevus cells to surround the smooth muscles and nerves
- Angiocentricity of the nevus cells
