- A proliferation of basaloid cells of relatively uniform sizes and shapes, as irregular lobules with
- Attachment of some lobules to the overlying epidermis
- Prominent palisading of the peripheral nuclei
- Scattered necrotic cells
- Cleft formation between tumor lobules and stroma
- A fibromucinous stroma
- Amyloid deposition between neoplastic cells
- Necrosis en masse at some foci
