Histologic Features
- Miniaturization of existing hair follicles and a decrease in the follicular diameter
- Prominent sebaceous glands
- A marked increase in the number of telogen follicles
- Fibrous tracts containing no inflammatory cells
- A sparse perivascular infiltrate containing lymphocytes and histiocytes
- Absence of anagen hair bulbs in the subcutaneous fat
