Histologic Features
- Most hair follicles in catagen or telogen
- Thickened corrugated glossy membrane on some hair follicles
- Fibrous tracts beneath the retracted hair follicles
- Lymphocytes and mast cells within the fibrous tracts and follicular sheaths
- Intact sebaceous glands
- Telangiectasia within the tracts
- A decrease in the follicular diameter (late stages)
