Sweet's syndrome (acute febrile neutrophilic dermatosis)
Histologic Features
- An intact epidermis
- A subepidermal blister
- Marked edema of the papillary dermis containing extravasated red blood cells
- A dense, diffuse infiltrate in the upper dermis consisting mostly of neutrophils, a few histiocytes, lymphocytes, and scattered eosinophils
- Large amount of nuclear dust in the infiltrate
- Foci of collagen degeneration
- An absence of vasculitis
