Histologic Features
- A basket-weave horn and normal epidermis
- An increased number of thin-walled, jagged, bizarre-shaped blood vessels containing erythrocytes
- Jagged spaces around preexisting venules (promontory sign)
- A sparse infiltrate of lymphocytes and plasma cells around vascular spaces
- Extravasated red blood cells
- Abundant hemosideran deposition
- A proliferation of spindle cells between collagen bundles in the dermis
