Hailey-Hailey disease (benign familial pemphigus)
Histologic Features
- Hyperkeratosis with focal parakeratosis and scale-crusts
- A broad intraepidermal blister containing acantholytic cells
- Acantholysis involves at least the lower half of the epidermis
- Epidermal hyperplasia
- Distinct suprabasal cleft formation
- Many dyskeratotic cells with pyknotic nuclei and eosinophilic cytoplasm
- Many neutrophils and lymphocytes in the dermis
